So how much do I pay per month to be a student at SHIFT College of Intercession?
Although the brochure says the tuition cost per month is $525, the college’s vision is cooperative meaning that we look to businesses to help students through scholarships. The system is meant to work so that as a student/intern you will get paid to go to school rather than have to pay, while providing great value to those who support you in your education. If there are businesses available looking to sponsor an intern then you will be able to start right away through the programs. If there is not then you have three choices, you can pay the tuition yourself, wait for sponsors to become available, or find a sponsor yourself. Note: if you choose the latter, then you will not be praying for them in order to guard confidentiality yet you will be guaranteed a sponsor as long as that enterprise sponsors you.
Are the courses accredited?
At this point no we are not accredited. Accredited means you have an outside governing body regulating the quality of your teachers and educational standards. For universities and colleges that are not federal then these can be regulated by any group of accrediting bodies which charge large amounts to join their clubs. At the present since we are the first college or our kind, and operate way outside of the box in regards to education we do not fit these clubs. The bonus of accreditation is that your credits from the courses will transfer to any of the schools within the club, this does not guarantee you to be able to transfer to federal schools. We are pursuing licensing or certification with the federal government and may sometime pursue accreditation however at this time I do not see the benefits of accreditation for our students.
When can I start?
We take new students every month, the course work must start on the first Monday of the month. This is to ensure you get the 4 weeks/ 10 hours of prayer in for the month. We do not take students part way through the month.
How does it work if I cannot finish the course within the time-frame suggested?
All the courses except the intro/four-week course can be finished over as long of a time-frame you need. If you are taking the certificate course and you want to take a 6-month break to extend the length to 1.5 years then that is fine. You can also increase the speed in finishing the courses if you pray more than 30 minutes a day. This is based on students willingness/available time and available sponsors (unless student is sponsoring themselves).
Can I just do the four-week course without any intention of pursuing a career in intercession?
Yes! Our desire is to see a generation grow in the skill and inheritance of intercession to see the earth/nations transformed. You can even take the other courses without ever pursuing the careers that they lead to if you want to strengthen your prayer muscle.
